Background

Africa Global Logistics Malawi Limited is a subsidiary of a multinational corporation MSC. Africa Global Logistics is a leading Freight Forwarding and Logistics company in the country. The Group is one of the leading integrated logistics network operators in Africa with concessions in ports and railways. In Malawi we operate the entire logistics service range from international freight forwarding to warehousing and distribution management.

The company intends to recruit suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following position.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the successful person will among other things be responsible for:

  • Welcome visitors and direct them to the appropriate offices.
  • Ensuring that all switchboard lines are working and reporting those malfunctioning ensuring that the reception and switchboard are always manned.
  • Answering calls from both internal and external customers in a timely, efficient and polite manner.
  • Maintaining employee and department directories
  • Ensuring that switchboard telephone lines are not being abused
  • Ensuring that visitors have been issued with visitors’ badge
  • Maintaining security procedures by not just letting a person enter the offices without proper verification

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants should have a Diploma in Front Office Management or its equivalent. They should have at least three years’ experience in a similar position in a very busy and reputable organization. The candidate should have exceptional organization, interpersonal skills and knowledge of front office operations. To effectively discharge the above responsibilities, the desired person should be mature and must have exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills.
