NBS Bank Plc invites applications from suitably qualified and interested candidates to fill the following vacancy tenable in Corporate Banking Department in Lilongwe.

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Banking, the successful candidate’s responsibility will be to drive portfolio growth and income generation by developing and maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring client retention and delivering efficient NBS Bank products and services in line with the Bank’s approved risk appetite.

Responsibilities or duties

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Develop and implement portfolio business and sales plans aligned to the Bank’s overall strategy.
  • Analyze market trends, industry developments and portfolio performance to identify new business opportunities.
  • Drive revenue growth through selling and cross selling of the bank’s products and services including assets, liabilities, trade finance and digital.
  • Build and manage strong client relationships to increase wallet share, enhance customer loyalty and improve retention.
  • Identify and onboard new business in line with the bank’s appetite.
  • Assess, structure and recommend credit facilities in line with risk and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor portfolio performance against budget and targets and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Ensure high-quality service delivery in line with SLAs.
  • Monitor credit quality and minimize non-performing loans.
  • Ensure strict adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, procedures, and audit standards, including KYC and compliance guidelines.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver integrated client solutions.
  • Contribute to product development and enhancement by providing market intelligence, customer feedback and identifying emerging needs.
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely portfolio performance, sales and management reports to support decision making.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience in Corporate or Commercial Banking, with at least 3 years at a supervisory or relationship management level.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Banking & Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Sales & Marketing or a related field.
  • Proven track record in managing corporate client portfolios, driving revenue growth and delivering business development targets.
  • Strong experience in credit analysis, structuring facilities and trade finance solutions.
