Background
Nyanthepa is a community radio station based in Nsanje. Nyanthepa envisions a developed society with citizens who are productively contributing to the development of Nsanje District.
Nyanthepa is looking for a self-motivated, interactive, innovative, and enthusiastic person to fill the position of Reporter.
Essential Job Functions
- Identify and research news stories.
- Write news stories for radio and online platforms.
- Present news stories on air.
- Conduct interviews.
- Cover live radio events.
Skills Required
- Ability to present news in Chisena, Chichewa, and English.
- Strong ability to write clear news stories for radio and online platforms.
- Ability to conduct thorough interviews with sources.
- Strong understanding of sports rules, terminology, and current events.
- Familiarity with audio recording equipment and editing software.
- Ability to critically scrutinize and analyze facts and opinions.
- Ability to work under tight schedules.
- Ability to work in a team.
Qualifications and Experience
- Certificate or Diploma in Journalism from any recognized institution.
- Experience: Proven experience in news editing, including familiarity with radio broadcasting standards.
- Well conversant with Chisena, English, and Chichewa languages.
