Position Summary
Research Assistants/Enumerators will support quantitative and qualitative data collection activities, including administering surveys, conducting interviews, transcription of qualitative data, and supporting data quality assurance processes under the supervision of the study co-investigator.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct quantitative data collection using mobile data collection tools (e.g., tablets, smartphones, ODK, Kobo, SurveyCTO, or similar platforms).
- Conduct key informant interviews (KIIs) and in-depth interviews (IDIs) with health providers, policymakers, and other stakeholders, as required.
- Support recruitment of study participants in line with the study protocol.
- Transcribe audio-recorded interviews accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensure adherence to research ethics, including informed consent, confidentiality, and respectful engagement with adolescents and youth.
- Participate in study training, pilot testing, and daily debrief meetings.
- Submit completed data and field reports in accordance with study timelines.
- Report any challenges encountered during data collection to the field supervisor
Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum of a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Demography, Sociology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in data collection for public health or social science research.
- Demonstrated proficiency in mobile/electronic data collection tools.
- Strong interviewing and communication skills, including experience conducting qualitative interviews.
- Experience in audio transcription of qualitative data.
- Familiarity with adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health topics is an added advantage.
- Ability to communicate fluently in English and relevant local languages.
- High level of professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary research team.
Preferred Qualifications (Added Advantage)
- Experience conducting research within public health facilities or with government stakeholders.
- Previous training in research ethics or human subjects’ protection.

Duration of Engagement
This is a short-term, project-based engagement aligned with the study data collection period. Specific timelines will be communicated to selected candidates.
