Role Overview

The Risk and Compliance Officer will be responsible for ensuring that VisionFund Malawi operates in compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. This role plays a critical part in safeguarding the institution's assets, reputation, and operational integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain risk management frameworks and policies.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and identify potential risks across all operational areas.
• Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements, including those from the Reserve Bank of Malawi and other relevant authorities.
• Develop and deliver compliance training programs to staff.
• Investigate compliance breaches and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare regular reports on risk and compliance status for senior management and the board.
• Stay updated on changes in legislation and industry best practices related to risk and compliance.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in risk management, compliance, or internal audit, preferably within the financial services sector.
• Strong understanding of microfinance operations and regulatory frameworks in Malawi.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
