Job Overview

The school is seeking a dedicated and experienced Headteacher to lead and manage the institution. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring effective teaching, sound administration, and compliance with Ministry of Education standards.

The Role

Reporting to the School Board, the Headteacher will oversee all academic and administrative functions of the school, supervise staff, and serve as the key link between the school and education stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and manage school education programmes in line with Ministry of Education guidelines.
• Plan, organise, and supervise teaching and learning activities.
• Develop timetables and allocate teaching loads.
• Oversee administrative and clerical functions of the school.
• Liaise with government education authorities and other stakeholders.
• Maintain discipline, cleanliness, and good behaviour among learners.
• Engage parents and teachers on learner progress and challenges.
• Work with the school administrator on budgets and operational needs.
• Review and evaluate teachers’ work to ensure curriculum compliance.
• Lead and coordinate the implementation of curriculum changes.
• Combine teaching duties with administrative responsibilities when required.
• Monitor daily teacher attendance.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the School Board.

Qualifications and Skills

• Primary School Teaching Certificate.
• At least five (5) years’ experience as a school head or in a similar leadership role.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills.
• Proven ability to deliver results.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• High levels of integrity and professionalism.
