INSTITUTION: ST. ANDREWS MISSION SECONDARY SCHOOL IN MULANJE

St. Andrews Girls Mission Secondary School in Mulanje is seeking a responsible, caring, and organized individual to join our team as a School Matron. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being, safety, and comfort of our students, especially those in boarding facilities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide care, supervision, and support to students in the hostel.
  • Ensure the cleanliness, hygiene, and maintenance of hostel facilities.
  • Monitor students’ health and well-being, and report concerns to the administration.
  • Offer guidance and support to students on personal and social matters.
  • Administer basic first aid and assist in arranging medical care when needed.
  • Collaborate with school staff to maintain discipline and uphold hostel rules.
  • Keep accurate records related to student welfare, health incidents, and supplies.
  • Act as a positive role model and promote a safe, respectful hostel environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Must be a mature lady.
  • Minimum of a Certificate in Community Health, Nursing, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Previous experience working with young people, preferably in a school or boarding environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to adolescents.
  • Basic first aid knowledge and the ability to handle health and welfare matters sensitively.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of integrity, patience, and a nurturing attitude.
