SEASONAL TIPPING & THRESHING OPERATOR

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the above position tenable at our Lilongwe Facility.

The Seasonal threshing operator will be responsible for operating the threshing line to consistently produce tipped and threshed tobacco products that meets/exceeds customer specifications while adhering to customer processing standards, EHSQ standard and regulatory requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Seasonal Blending & Threshing Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for among others:

• Set, monitor, and adjust blending and threshing equipment to meet customer quality specifications.
• Monitor quality results and make proactive adjustments to equipment to ensure consistent and within specification results are achieved throughout the production run.
• Prompt reactive adjustment to reverse generation of non-conforming products.
• Adhere to Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality (EHSQ) policies and procedures in every aspect of conducting duties.
• Operate and control blending and threshing equipment for optimal and consistent performance.
• Control blending and threshing teams to meet set targets.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

• Grade 1 Trade Test Certificate in General Fitting or Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Full Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE); credits in English, Mathematics, and Science will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Tipping & Threshing Operator.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft package, and Windows applications.
• Good analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work under minimal supervision
