In our quest to realize our mission, the School invites applications from suitably matured, qualified and motivated Malawians to fill the position of Secondary School Teacher tenable at Ilinga Private Secondary School on a fixed term contract.

The School started its operations in the year 2009.

Purpose of the Job

The primary purpose of a Secondary School teacher at Ilinga Private Secondary School is to guide students through academic subjects, build critical thinking skills and foster personal growth. Our teachers plan lessons, assess student progress, and prepare learners for national exams, higher education, or future careers.

Person Specifications

A holder of Degree in Education with bias in area applied for; those with non-educational degrees must possess the University Certificate of Education. All from institutions recognized by NCHE.

Must be registered with the Teachers Council of Malawi.

Considerable experience is paramount.

Must be aged between 22 and 50 years.

A holder of a National Identity.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Computer proficiency, preferably Word and Excel.

Attention to detail.

A good communicator.

Innovative.

Ability to meet deadline.

Reporting to the Head teacher, the Job holder will, among other roles, be responsible for:

Planning and preparing lessons.

Preparing schemes and records of work.

Delivering engaging lessons.

Helping learners understand complex subjects.

Assessing and reporting student performance.

Managing classroom discipline.

Encouraging critical thinking, creativity and active participation among learners.

Supporting students' emotional well-being.

Showing good values, honesty and kindness.

Inspiring a love for learning through positive actions.

Organizing daily activities so lessons run smoothly.

Providing equitable access to education through targeted support and interventions.
