1. PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Security Guard is responsible for protecting people, property, and assets by monitoring premises, preventing unauthorised access, and responding to security incidents. The role helps maintain a safe and secure environment.
2. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Patrol buildings, grounds, or assigned areas regularly.
- Monitor surveillance cameras, alarms, and access points.
- Control entry and exit of visitors, employees, and vehicles.
- Check identification and enforce security procedures.
- Respond to emergencies such as theft, fire, or disturbances.
- Report suspicious activities and security breaches.
- Write clear incident and daily activity reports.
- Assist visitors and provide directions when needed.
- Cooperate with law enforcement or emergency services when required.
3. QUALIFICATIONS
Academic Qualifications
- Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE).
- Security training will be an added advantage.
4. SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Good observation and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Physical fitness and stamina.
- Honesty, integrity, and reliability.
- Basic problem-solving skills.
- Time management skills.
- Previous experience working as a security guard will be an added advantage.
