ABOUT THE ROLE
Central Medical Stores Trust (CMST) is Malawi's premier public health supply chain institution, responsible for procuring, warehousing, and distributing quality medicines and medical supplies to all public health facilities nationwide.
We are seeking a vigilant and experienced Security Liaison Assistant to support the effective provision and coordination of security services at Regional Medical Stores and ensure implementation of approved security systems and procedures.
If you have a background in security operations, experience with electronic surveillance systems, and a commitment to protecting critical health infrastructure, this is your opportunity to contribute to Malawi's public health sector.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma in Security Studies or a related field from a recognised institution.
- Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in security operations, preferably in a busy public or private sector organisation.
- Retired junior police officers or military officers with skills in electronic security systems will have an added advantage.
- Knowledge of modern security systems and surveillance technologies.
- Excellent analytical and investigative skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to coordinate rapid response to emergencies.
- Good networking and relationship-management skills.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to prepare security reports and maintain accurate records.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support implementation of approved security systems, operations, and procedures at branch level.
- Coordinate branch-level security activities and provide support to branch management on security matters.
- Supervise contracted security personnel and monitor compliance with established security procedures.
- Manage security control room operations and monitor security systems.
- Maintain custody and control of keys in accordance with approved procedures.
- Receive and analyse daily security reports and escalate incidents appropriately.
- Respond to security incidents and emergencies in liaison with branch management and the Security Services Officer.
- Conduct tactical patrols and inspections to enforce security standards.
- Monitor CCTV systems, vehicle tracking systems, radio communication equipment, and electric fence installations.
- Ensure confidentiality and professionalism in the execution of security responsibilities.
