Umodzi Holdings Limited is seeking a Security Supervisor to oversee security operations.
Responsibilities or duties
- Supervise and coordinate all security operations across the Umodzi Park complex, ensuring the safety and security of guests, employees, visitors, and property.
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises, including both interior and exterior areas, to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
- Review and complete daily security checklists, assess risk areas, and implement appropriate preventive and corrective measures.
- Monitor security systems, including CCTV surveillance, access control systems, and alarm systems, ensuring their effective operation at all times
- Liaise with law enforcement agencies and assist with investigations by providing access to CCTV footage, incident reports, and other relevant evidence.
- Provide security advice and guidance to guests and visitors regarding personal safety and the protection of their belongings.
- Investigate security incidents, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Support the enforcement of company policies and procedures by reporting staff misconduct and security-related violations in coordination with the Human Resources Department.
- Supervise, mentor, and provide operational oversight to outsourced security personnel, ensuring compliance with established security standards and procedures.
- Prepare and submit periodic security reports, risk assessments, and incident analyses to management.
- Ensure adherence to modern corporate governance principles, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices in all security operations.
- Coordinate emergency response procedures and participate in safety and security drills as required.
Qualifications or requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Security Studies, Security Management, Law Enforcement, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of security operations, investigations, risk assessment, crime prevention, and incident management.
- Excellent understanding of criminal procedure, evidence handling, and applicable security regulations.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computer applications, CCTV systems, access control systems, and other security-related software.
- Strong analytical, investigative, and report-writing skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and supervisory skills.
- Sound understanding of corporate governance, compliance requirements, and security reporting standards.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to confidentiality
Experience needed
Minimum of eight (8) years’ relevant experience in security management, preferably gained from the Malawi Police Service, Malawi Defence Force, or a reputable corporate security environment.
