Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership and oversight of the Quality Control and Laboratory functions.
- Supervise and coordinate chemical and physical testing of raw materials, clinker, cement and other process materials.
- Ensure compliance with applicable quality standards, specifications and laboratory procedures.
- Monitor and control the quality of raw materials and products throughout the production process.
- Review laboratory results, identify deviations and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Provide technical support to Production, Mining and other departments on process and product quality issues.
- Develop, review and improve laboratory testing methods, procedures and quality control systems.
- Ensure proper calibration, maintenance and verification of laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, test results and quality reports.
- Participate in quality investigations, root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure the laboratory complies with health, safety and environmental requirements.
- Supervise, mentor and develop laboratory staff and promote good laboratory practices.
- Assist management with quality-related reporting, audits, standards compliance and process optimisation.
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years’ relevant experience, preferably in a cement, mining, manufacturing or mineral-processing environment.
- Strong practical experience in chemical analysis, quality control and laboratory operations.
- Experience with cement/raw material testing and quality standards will be an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and leadership skills.
- High level of integrity, accuracy, professionalism and attention to detail.
