The Malawi School of Government (MSG) is a unique higher education Statutory Corporation established under the Act of Parliament No. 33 of 2022. Our core mission is to shape Malawi’s present and future by developing and delivering human resource development programmes and enhancing the capacity of the public and private sectors through education and training, research, consultancy, and advisory services.
MSG invites suitably qualified, motivated, and agile candidates to fill the following vacant positions tenable at its Secretariat, Mpemba Campus (formerly known as Staff Development Institute (SDI) and Kanengo Campus (formerly Malawi Institute of Management):
Responsibilities or duties
System Administration
- Develop efficient ICT policies, procedures, and systems.
- Provide technical support for the information management system.
- Analyze user requirements and oversee system transitions.
- Resolve service issues across departments.
- Propose and implement business systems solutions.
- Perform systems and database administration.
- Automate tasks through scripting.
- Manage the School’s website.
- Maintain system documentation and software updates.
Security
- Ensure system security and manage ICT infrastructure.
- Select and test ICT networks and systems.
- Establish disaster recovery procedures.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or related field accredited by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE)
At least one of the following certifications:
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- CompTIA Security+ or CySA+
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
Must be a registered member of ICTAM.
Experience needed
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Develop efficient ICT policies, procedures, and systems.
- Provide technical support for the information management system.
