Job Overview

The Senior Lecturer in Family Medicine will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, supporting clinical training, and contributing to academic and institutional development.

The Role

• Deliver academic and clinical teaching
• Support curriculum development and student assessment
• Contribute to institutional and faculty management

Key Responsibilities

Teaching

• Plan and deliver theoretical and clinical teaching in line with approved curriculum
• Source and develop teaching and learning materials
• Teach students in both classroom and clinical settings
• Assess and evaluate students’ academic and practical performance
• Maintain accurate student records and submit reports
• Provide timely feedback to learners
• Mentor faculty members and clinical staff
• Promote students’ spiritual development
• Collaborate with stakeholders in training and learning

Administration and Management

• Participate in in-service training and professional development
• Lead and support internal and external examinations and assessments
• Contribute to curriculum review and development
• Attend faculty, college, and relevant stakeholder meetings
• Act as a resource person in Family Medicine
• Participate in strategic management and faculty budget preparation

Other Responsibilities

• Ensure continuous professional development
• Perform duties in accordance with college policies and procedures
• Undertake any other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience

• Master of Science in Family Medicine
• PhD in a relevant field is an added advantage
• Registered with the Medical Council of Malawi (MCM)
