Malawi Assemblies of God University (MAGU) is a faith-based institution of higher learning established in 2013 and accredited by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE). Guided by its vision “to be a world-class university, culturally relevant, offering transformative education and quality leadership applicable locally and globally,” MAGU is committed to academic excellence, innovation, integrity, and service to society. MAGU is urgently seeking to fill the following vacant positions:
Responsibilities or duties
- Organize, coordinate, and lead teaching programmes within the department with the approval of the Faculty and in accordance with University policies and academic calendars.
- Deliver high-quality lectures, seminars, tutorials, and practical sessions using innovative and student-centred teaching methods.
- Develop and review course outlines, lecture materials, and learning resources in line with approved curricula and academic standards.
- Lead the design and development of new courses and academic programmes in response to emerging academic and industry needs.
- Assess students through assignments, tests, examinations, projects, and other evaluation methods while ensuring fairness, transparency, and academic integrity.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects, dissertations, and theses.
- Provide academic mentoring and guidance to students to support their academic success, career development, and ethical formation.
- Ensure effective academic advising and support systems for students within the department.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
A PhD or DMin in Theological studies, or Religious Studies, or a related field from a recognized institution
Experience needed
- Strong record of teaching, research, and publications in theology or ministry studies.
- At least 5–10 years of experience in higher education or theological training.
- Experience in church leadership or ministry will be an added advantage.
- Must be a practicing, Christian.
