K&J Projects Private Limited, India is currently preparing a proposal for an international consultancy assignment under the Southern Africa Trade and Connectivity Project (SATCP).

Responsibilities or duties

The Social Expert shall be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the social impacts in the corridor of impact and prepare review mitigation plans and Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) in order to minimize any negative impacts that the project implementation will have on the people within the project area.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Bachelor’s degree in the field of Social Science e.g. sociology, economics or physical planning. The person must have a minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in infrastructure projects of similar nature. He/she must have served as a Social officer in at least two (2) construction projects of similar nature . He/she must have a working experience in sub–Saharan Africa and shall be fluent in written and spoken English.Economics

Experience needed

12 man-months for Construction Period and DNP. Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in infrastructure projects of similar nature. Served as a Social officer in at least two (2) construction projects of similar nature.

The assignment is for Consultancy Services for Feasibility Study, Detailed Engineering Design, Preparation of Tender Documents for Construction of Two Inland Vehicle Weigh Stations, and Construction Supervision of Liwonde Weigh Station along Zalewa – Mwanza (M006) Road and Liwonde – Zomba (M003) Road. The client is Roads Authority, Malawi and the project is funded by the World Bank.
