Responsibilities
The successful candidates will carry out the following duties:
- Identify and prepare teaching and learning materials;
- Prepare Schemes of work and maintain Records of work covered;
- Devise methods and resources of teaching and assessing students;
- Create and maintain a conducive teaching and learning environment;
- Maintain students’ discipline;
- Conduct students’ formative and summative assessments;
- Maintain all classroom records;
- Liaise with parents/ guardians regularly on issues of learner performance; and
- Attend to all school activities as may be required.
Qualifications
Applicants must be Non – serving, holding a Bachelor of Education or a general degree with University Certificate of Education (UCE) obtained from accredited institutions; OR Serving Secondary School Teachers at Grade TJ with a minimum of four (4) years’ teaching experience at that grade; OR Serving Primary School Teachers holding a Bachelor of Education or a general degree with University Certificate of Education (UCE) from accredited institutions. Applications should be in any of the following disciplines: – Humanities, Sciences, Technical Subjects (Technical Drawing, Metal Work, Wood Work, Clothing & Textiles and Home Economics), Languages, Computer/ ICT, Creative & Performing Arts, and Special Needs Education. The applicants must be registered teachers with the Teachers Council of Malawi.
