Role Overview
The successful candidate will:
- Teach Physical Education to girls across designated year groups
- Coordinate and promote girls’ sporting activities
- Foster fitness, teamwork, discipline, resilience, and sportsmanship
- Contribute to both academic and extracurricular aspects of school life
- Support students’ holistic development through sport and physical activity
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Student Development
- Teach PE to a high standard
- Track and support student progress
- Maintain accurate records of achievement and participation
- Support students with Individual Learning Plans
- Set and mark prep work regularly
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and engagement
Sports and Extracurricular Activities
- Organize and supervise girls’ sports activities and competitions
- Coach students in various sports disciplines
- Prepare teams for inter-school competitions and events
- Support co-curricular and extracurricular programs
Professional Responsibilities
- Collaborate with colleagues, boarding staff, and parents
- Contribute to departmental planning and schemes of work
- Develop and share quality teaching resources
- Participate in professional development activities
- Ensure student safety and uphold school discipline
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field
- Recognized teaching qualification
- Experience teaching in a secondary school
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire students
- ICT literacy for teaching and learning purposes
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Experience teaching the Cambridge curriculum or equivalent
- Experience coaching multiple sports disciplines
- Experience organizing school sports fixtures and events
- Evidence of continuous professional development
