Background

The National Organisation of Nurses and Midwives of Malawi (NONM) is a professional organization, non-governmental organization, and trade union representing the interests of nurses and midwives across Malawi. With a membership of over 10,000 and its presence in all 29 districts, NONM serves as the official voice for over 18,000 nursing/midwifery professionals in the country.

NONM is currently seeking a motivated and proactive Temporary Driver to join the secretariat.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will provide essential transport and logistics support to the organization. Primary duties include:

  • Vehicle Operation: Providing safe and timely transportation for staff and authorized visitors to various destinations across Malawi.
  • Maintenance: Conducting routine checks of the vehicle’s mechanical condition and ensuring regular servicing is scheduled and performed.
  • Logistics Support: Assisting with the delivery and collection of official correspondences, supplies, and equipment.
  • Documentation: Maintaining accurate vehicle logbooks, fuel records, and ensuring all trip details are accurately captured for audit purposes.

Qualifications and Requirements

We are looking for a candidate who meets the following criteria:

  • Education: At least a Junior Certificate of Education (JCE) or above. Those with Malawi School Certificate of Examination will have an added advantage.
  • Licensing: Possession of a valid, clean driving license.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of professional driving experience.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of Malawian road networks and traffic regulations.
  • Attributes: High level of integrity, punctuality, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
