ABOUT THE ROLE
The Training Quality Coordinator will coordinate, monitor and improve the quality of institutional learning, academic training and professional development programmes across MLW.
The role supports high-quality training and learning opportunities for staff and trainees, including interns, pre-master trainees, master’s students, doctoral students, postdoctoral researchers and other stakeholders.
The position will also link MLW’s Training Strategy with its Talent Management Strategy, Professional Development Plans, performance management, departmental training needs, succession planning, staff planning, staff promotion and the Learning Management System (LMS).
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Training and Development, Education, Human Resource Management or a related field.
- Certification in Learning and Development, Training Management, Quality Assurance, Monitoring and Evaluation, Instructional Design or a related area.
Experience:
- At least 5 years’ relevant experience in learning and development, training coordination, academic programme administration, research capacity strengthening, quality assurance or human resource development.
- Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) or digital learning platforms.
- Experience supporting talent management, succession planning or career development programmes.
- Experience coordinating organizational or departmental training programmes.
- Experience conducting training needs assessments and preparing training plans.
- Experience monitoring and evaluating learning programmes.
- Experience maintaining databases, training records and management reports.
- Experience preparing professional reports, presentations and training documentation.
KEY SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES:
- Strong quality orientation and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Digital and Artificial Intelligence competence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, databases, LMS, virtual learning platforms and data-reporting tools.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Initiative and ability to address training gaps and operational challenges.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, implement and review standards, guidelines, procedures and tools for training quality assurance.
- Ensure training programmes meet approved objectives, curricula, policies, funder requirements and professional standards.
- Conduct periodic reviews of training programmes and recommend improvements.
- Coordinate institutional, departmental and individual training needs assessments.
- Review professional development plans and performance management outcomes to identify development needs.
- Coordinate and monitor MLW’s academic training pipeline, including internships, master’s programmes, doctoral training and postdoctoral development.
- Coordinate the design, review and delivery of learning programmes.
- Monitor and evaluate learning programmes, including satisfaction, knowledge acquisition, behavioural change and workplace application.
- Support alignment of staff development activities with MLW’s Talent Management Strategy.
- Manage and maintain the Learning Management System and other external training offerings.
- Maintain accurate and confidential training records, including applications, approvals, attendance, assessments, certificates, evaluations and expenditure.
- Maintain and update the institutional training database and LMS.
- Support the development and review of training and development policies, guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ensure compliance with MLW policies, ethical requirements, health and safety standards and relevant funder conditions.
