NICO Technologies has a vacancy for a UI/UX Officer, tenable at its Head Office in Blantyre. The successful candidate will support the design and delivery of intuitive, consistent, and user-centred digital experiences across internal and customer-facing systems, working closely with the UI/UX Designer and broader delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
The incumbent’s key responsibilities shall, amongst others, include:
- Support the design and development of user interfaces and user experiences for digital solutions.
- Assist in creating wireframes, mock-ups, prototypes, and design specifications.
- Apply approved UI/UX design standards, branding guidelines, and accessibility requirements.
- Support user research activities, including usability testing and feedback collection.
- Document and analyse usability issues and user feedback to support design improvements.
- Ensure consistency of user interface and user experience across systems and platforms.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and Quality Assurance teams during solution delivery.
- Support design reviews and ensure designs are development-ready.
- Assist with maintaining UI/UX design documentation and artefacts.
Required Skills, Competencies, and Abilities
- Understanding of User Interface and User Experience design principles.
- Ability to translate requirements into intuitive and user-friendly designs.
- Proficiency in UI/UX design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or similar.
- Strong attention to detail and visual consistency.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Certification or formal training in UI/UX design tools or methodologies will be an added advantage.
- At least one to three years’ experience in a UI/UX, digital design, or related role.
- Experience supporting digital or systems development projects will be an added advantage.
