About Youth and Society (YAS)

Youth and Society (YAS) is a frontline civil society organisation dedicated to advancing human rights and democratic governance in Malawi and beyond.

The Role

The Videographer will be responsible for producing high-quality video and photographic content that aligns with the organisation’s communication objectives and engages its audience and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Capture high-quality video and photographic content for events and initiatives
  • Plan and set up video and photo shoots, including lighting and audio
  • Edit raw footage into polished, engaging content
  • Collaborate with the communications team on content development
  • Manage and organize video and photo archives
  • Ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices
  • Operate and maintain video and photography equipment
  • Conduct interviews and capture field content
  • Handle live streaming for events and podcast content

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience as a videographer
  • Strong visual storytelling ability
  • Proficiency in video editing software
  • Solid understanding of camera operation, lighting, and audio equipment
  • Creative mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience with live streaming

Additional Competencies

  • Knowledge of social media content trends
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Willingness to travel and work irregular hours, including weekends
