About the Company

Creck Hardware and General Supplies Limited invites applications on behalf of its sister company based in Blantyre for the position of Accountant. The successful candidate will be based in Blantyre and will report to the Finance and Administration Manager.

We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and experienced Accountant who will contribute to the company’s financial management, compliance, and overall business performance.

Key duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, monitor and implement and review departmental accounting policies, procedures and processes
  • Verify supporting documents for validity, accuracy and completeness both manually and in the accounting systems
  • Capture and maintain Masterfile information (creditors, debtors, payroll, assets) in the accounting system
  • Verify and approve Masterfile (creditors, debtors, payroll, assets) in the accounting system
  • Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledger entries, bank reconciliations, and monthly/quarterly financial statements.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Monitor and report on financial transactions and variances.
  • Assist the Finance Manager in preparation of the financial statements
  • Any other duties assigned from time to time.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of accounting experience preferably in a busy production industry.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Pastel and Sage evolution 100 etc.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and organizational abilities.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools.

  • Supporting internal and external audit processes.
  • Identifying financial risks and recommending appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Promoting accountability, transparency, and sound corporate governance in all financial operations.
