Purpose

The position is responsible for building repairs and maintenance to ensure structural integrity, aesthetics and safety of infrastructure. The role supports the facilities management strategy by executing maintenance tasks, managing building materials, supervising external/internal construction work, and overseeing offsite construction, while adhering to IMS procedures, EHS standards, EnMS, and 5S3R principles. The technician collaborates with other stakeholders, using a work order system for maintenance, ensuring timely material requisitions and stock management

Responsibilities or duties

What You Will Do

  • Perform hands-on masonry repairs and routine inspections while using the work order system to log, track, and complete maintenance tasks, ensuring structural integrity, timely resolution of issues, and minimal operational disruptions.
  • Accurately estimate and manage building materials for maintenance and offsite projects by requesting materials on time, maintaining updated stock and consumption records, and producing monthly stock reports.
  • Conduct inspections of offsite construction projects to ensure quality and compliance, prepare detailed inspection reports to track progress.
  • Adhere to EHS, IMS, EnMS, 5S3R standards and set Company policies during maintenance, construction supervision, and offsite work.

Qualifications or requirements

Who We Are Looking For

  • Grade 1 Trade Test Certificate/City and Guilds Certification in Construction Engineering or Foremanship.
  • Valid B1 Motor Vehicle Driver’s License
  • Proficient with Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Communication, planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Female Candidates Are Strongly Encouraged To Apply.

Experience needed

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience within a factory or manufacturing setting. Experience in epoxy floor repairs is an added advantage.
