SME Clinic, on behalf of its client, a fast-growing retailer supplying fresh food products to some of Malawi’s leading hospitality institutions, is recruiting a Butcher to be based in Blantyre.Advertise in Malawi
The ideal candidate must be an experienced and reliable butcher with strong knowledge of meat cutting, preparation, storage, hygiene standards, and customer service. The candidate must also possess a valid driving licence.
Main Responsibilities.
Duties and essential functions but not limited to.
- Cutting, trimming, deboning, and preparing meat according to required standards.
- Ensuring proper handling, storage, and display of meat products.
- Maintaining high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety.
- Receiving, inspecting, and managing meat stock.
- Advising customers on meat cuts and preparation where necessary.
- Ensuring accurate portioning, weighing, and packaging of meat products.
- Supporting deliveries or movement of products when required.
- Maintaining records of stock usage, wastage, and daily production.
- Ensuring compliance with company procedures and food safety standards.
Qualifications
- Certificate or relevant training in butchery, food handling, or a related field will be an added advantage.
- At least 2–3 years’ experience working as a butcher.
- Good knowledge of meat cuts, preparation, and storage standards.
- Strong understanding of hygiene and food safety requirements.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Good communication and customer service skills.Communications & Media Studies
- Must have a valid driving licence.
- Must be based in Blantyre.
