JOB DETAILS:

Mwaiwathu Private Hospital invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Chef tenable at the Hospital along Chileka Road in Blantyre.

Position Context

Reporting to the Head Chef, the Chef ensures that meals are prepared timely using set standard recipes and assist with all kitchen operations

Specific duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Food preparation, cooking and presentation
• Ordering food stuffs
• Clearing and cleaning working areas
• Complying with health and safety procedures
• Complying with the menu
• Liaising with the Head Chef on stock runouts
• Offering options to patients and other clients
• Organizing the kitchen by arranging cooking utensils, equipment and ingredients.
• Ensuring that dishes are visually appealing when served to guests.
• Modifying recipes to meet specific customer preferences.
• Verifying the freshness of ingredients and discarding any expired items.

Educational Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma in Food Production or equivalent from a reputable institution.
• Malawi School Certificate of Education
• Minimum three years’ experience in a related field
