VACANCY FOR THE POSITION OF CHURCH CLERK
REPORTING TO: Church Administrator
JOB TYPE: Three-year contract, subject to renewal depending on performance
POSITION FUNCTION (PURPOSE):
The Church Clerk will provide administrative and operational support to the Pastor, church staff, and committees, ensuring smooth day-to-day functioning of the church, accurate record-keeping, and efficient handling of correspondence, schedules, and church finances.
Key Details:
Qualification: Must have a Diploma or Degree in Theology. Those with a certificate or diploma in business administration, or related field will have an added advantage.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position..
Location: Area 47, Lilongwe
Key Responsibilities:
- Will be expected to teach Catechumen lessons.
- Provide high-level administrative support to the Pastor, church staff, and committees.
- Maintain accurate records of membership, attendance, and financial transactions.
- Handle correspondence, phone calls, and scheduling of meetings and events.
- Assist with offerings, bills, account reconciliation, and financial reporting.
- Support special projects, events, and church programs.
- Ensure smooth daily operations and always uphold confidentiality.
Required Competencies:
- Must be conversant with Nkhoma Synod Doctrines and practices.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and church software.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with integrity.
- A proactive, team-oriented individual with a heart for service.
