Background
Lumina Creative Labs is an international digital creative agency that produces and sells artistic, editorial content, and digital media for clients in the United States and Europe.
We are launching a new project in Zomba focused on artistic photography that showcases Malawian talent, culture, and landscapes for a global audience. We need someone on the ground to help us build it.
The Role
You’ll be our Zomba-based creative coordinator — the person who connects local artistic talent with international commercial opportunities. This is part organizer, part creative eye, part talent scout.
Responsibilities
- Scout and recruit talented local photographers, models, dancers, and visual artists to participate in professional shoots
- Coordinate production logistics — scheduling shoots, managing locations, organizing equipment, and ensuring sessions run smoothly
- Provide creative input on shoot concepts, styling, set design, and lighting alongside our international creative team
- Manage model releases and contributor agreements (training provided)
- Build and maintain relationships with Zomba’s creative community — artists, students, performers, cultural organizations
- Communicate regularly with our international team via email and WhatsApp
Qualifications
- Student (final year) or recent graduate (within 2 years) of Fine Art, Visual Arts, Media Studies, Performing Arts, Communications, or a related creative field
- A genuine eye for visual quality — you notice light, composition, color, and detail. You can look at a photograph and articulate what works and what doesn’t
- Strong organizational skills — you have experience coordinating events, projects, or groups of people. You meet deadlines and follow through on commitments
- Well-connected in Zomba’s creative scene — you know (or can quickly find) photographers, artists, models, and performers in the area
- Fluent, professional English — written and spoken
Bonus (not required but impressive)
- Your own photography or videography portfolio (even shot on a phone)
- Experience organizing events, exhibitions, or creative projects
- Familiarity with social media content creation (Instagram, YouTube, TikTok)
- Knowledge of Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, or Canva
What We Offer
- Flexible part-time work that fits around your studies or other commitments
- Competitive pay with bonuses tied to successful project delivery
- Creative credit — your name on the work you help produce
- Skill development — exposure to international creative standards, commercial photography, and digital marketing
- Growth potential — this role can expand significantly as the project scales
