The Non-Governmental Organizations Regulatory Authority (NGORA) is a statutory Corporation mandated to register and regulate operations of Non-Governmental organizations in Malawi. To deliver on its core mandate, the institution is now looking for dynamic and well versed individuals to fill the following positions in various district offices:

District Monitoring and Analysis Officer (11 posts)

Job Details

Job Title: District Monitoring and Analysis Officer

Grade: NG- 5

Location: District Offices

Directorate: Registration and Compliance Services

Reporting to: Senior Monitoring and Analysis Officer

Supervision to: Assistant Monitoring and Analysis Officer

Job Purpose

To implement, and manage monitoring and evaluation systems to track and assess the alignment, effectiveness, and impact of NGO work towards national development.

Responsibilities or duties

  • Track non-registered NGOs and facilitate their registration
  • Ensure compliance by NGOs to prescribed Reporting Requirements and assist them in submitting the reports through MyNGO
  • Monitor NGO work preparing regular reports to track progress and outcomes, compile the best practices, and rank the best performing NGOs at the district level
  • Strengthen the capacity of DEC, NGOs, and local structures on MyNGO
  • Empower community structures (ADC and VDCs) on NGO operations and create a reporting channel between community structures and NGORA
  • Receive complaints regarding NGO work and channel them to appropriate sectors for resolution
  • Coordinate the signing of project-based MoU between district councils and NGOs and review of the MoU
  • Establish and update the NGO database, conduct an analysis of the NGO sector, and share the results with relevant stakeholders at the district level
  • Produce district NGO map and advise councils on the allocation of projects based on the outlook of NGO distribution
  • Assist councils in the development of policies such as Social Economic Profiles and District Development Plans by providing data-driven insights (NGO data)
  • Coordinate with the district council and community structures to ensure that only registered NGOs are allowed to operate
  • Represent NGORA in Meetings that Concern NGO including District Council Executive Meetings and document particulars relating to NGO work
  • Conduct community capacity-building sessions on NGO databases;
  • Any other duties relevant to the post assigned from time to time.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Economics, or related from a credible higher institution recognized by National Council for Higher Education(NCHE).
  • Sound planning and coordination skills
  • Data analysis skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical skills

Experience needed

  • Three (3) year working experience at officer level.
