Background

A reputable primary school operating at the former Stance Private School campus in Area 23 invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill the following positions:

DRIVER

Job Purpose

The Driver is responsible for providing safe, reliable, and professional transportation for authorised school activities, including transporting pupils, staff, documents, equipment, and other authorised items.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive school vehicles safely and responsibly.
  • Transport pupils and staff to and from authorised destinations.
  • Support school trips, educational visits, sporting activities, and other official school activities.
  • Conduct routine checks of the vehicle before and after use.
  • Report mechanical faults, damage, or safety concerns promptly.
  • Ensure the vehicle is kept clean, secure, and in good working condition.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle usage, mileage, fuel, and maintenance records.
  • Observe all applicable traffic laws and road safety requirements.
  • Ensure pupils are transported safely and supervise appropriate boarding and alighting procedures.
  • Exercise particular caution around school premises and pedestrian areas.
  • Follow authorised routes and schedules.
  • Safeguard school vehicles, passengers, documents, and property.
  • Ensure required vehicle documentation and licences remain valid.
  • Assist with loading and unloading school equipment or materials where appropriate.
  • Report accidents, incidents, delays, or other transport-related issues immediately.
  • Perform basic vehicle checks and arrange servicing and repairs through the appropriate channels.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding pupils, staff, and school activities.
  • Perform other transport-related duties assigned by school management.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's licence appropriate to the vehicle operated.
  • Relevant driving experience, preferably in a school, institutional, or professional environment.
  • Good knowledge of local roads and traffic regulations.
  • Safe driving record and responsible driving habits.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliability, punctuality, patience, and professionalism.
  • Ability to interact appropriately with children.
  • Suitable professional and personal references.
  • Relevant experience and qualifications for each role
