About Beehive Centre for Social Enterprise

Beehive Centre for Social Enterprise is dedicated to transforming lives and communities through innovative and sustainable social enterprises. We create opportunities, foster entrepreneurship, and deliver impactful solutions to address the socio-economic challenges in Malawi. With a staff of over 500, we run schools under Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Institute, businesses, a factory, farms, and a construction enterprise.

Based on its campus in Chilomoni, Blantyre, MQOPCI brings together four institutions spanning early years to tertiary level: Mother Teresa Children’s Centre, which provides day care services and is complemented by Mother Teresa Catholic Community Service, delivering family support, early childhood development, parenting education, literacy initiatives, teacher development, maternal and child health education, and community outreach for orphaned and vulnerable children; St. Kizito Catholic Primary School, covering Standards 1 to 7; St Carlo Acutis Catholic High School, offering secondary education under the MANEB curriculum; and St. John Paul II Catholic College, which offers vocational, leadership, and IT courses. In line with its mission to widen access to education, MQOPCI reserves over 22% of its places for bursary students, ensuring that families facing financial hardship are not excluded from quality schooling.
