About the Company

Creck Hardware and General Supplies Limited invites applications on behalf of its sister company based in Blantyre for the position of Finance Manager. The successful candidate will be based in Blantyre and will report to the Chief Operations Officer.

We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and experienced Finance Manager who will contribute to the company’s financial management, compliance, and overall business performance.

Job Purpose

The Finance Manager will be responsible for the effective management of the company’s finance function, ensuring sound financial controls, accurate reporting, statutory compliance and effective financial planning.Management

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and review accounting policies, procedures and internal financial controls.
  • Prepare timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end financial closing and ensure all accounts are properly reconciled.
  • Prepare and monitor annual budgets, cash-flow forecasts and financial plans, including budget versus actual analysis.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, receivables, payables and other financial commitments.
  • Oversee accounting for inventory, fixed assets, payroll and other financial records and ensure their accuracy and completeness.
  • Review and authorise financial transactions, payments, receipts, journals and masterfile changes in accordance with approved controls.
  • Ensure timely compliance with tax, pension and other statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate external and internal audits and ensure implementation of agreed audit recommendations.
  • Monitor financial performance, costs and profitability and provide management with appropriate financial analysis and advice.
  • Review the effectiveness of accounting systems and recommend improvements to strengthen financial reporting and controls.
  • Supervise, develop and appraise finance staff and ensure effective performance of the finance function.
  • Maintain effective relationships with banks, auditors, tax authorities and other financial stakeholders.
  • Perform any other finance-related duties assigned by the Managing Director or senior management from time to time.

Business Finance

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, or CA is highly desirable.
  • Those with Masters in Business Administration Will have added advantage.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years’ relevant working experience in accounting or finance, including at least three (3) years’ experience in a managerial role.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, cash-flow management, taxation, internal controls and audit coordination.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Sound knowledge of financial reporting standards, taxation, budgeting and financial management principles.
  • Experience in a senior finance or management position will be an added advantage.
