CPL is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following position:
General Fitter & Turner
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Performing maintenance, repair, and fabrication of mechanical parts and components.
- Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and designs to ensure precision in machining and fitting work.
- Ensuring all fitting and turning work is carried out efficiently and safely in accordance with company standards.
- Maintaining workshop tools and machinery in good working condition.
- Collaborating with other departments to minimize downtime during plant maintenance and repairs.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should possess:
- Grade 1 or Advanced City & Guilds Certificate in Fitting & Turning or a related field.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ proven experience in a similar industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience in machine shop operations.
Required Skills and Attributes
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and mechanical designs.
- Physically fit and capable of working in a demanding industrial environment.
- Proficiency in operating the following machinery:
- Lathe Machines
- Milling Machines
- Dalfit DS12 Slot Machine
- Jungenthal KE1200 Vertical Borer
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and safety.
- Strong problem-solving and technical skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
