HR Officer

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, staff records, contracts, and separation processes.
  • Coordinate performance management, staff development, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Administer payroll inputs, leave, staff benefits, medical aid, and other HR administrative processes.
  • Develop, implement, and review HR policies, procedures, and ensure compliance with the Malawi Employment Act and organisational standards.
  • Provide employee relations support, manage disciplinary and grievance processes, and prepare HR reports for Management and the Board.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least three (3) years’ progressive HR experience, preferably within an NGO or development organisation.
  • Sound knowledge of Malawi labour laws and HR best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with an HR Information System (HRIS) is an added advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills with high levels of integrity and confidentiality.
