Background

Zomba Diocese Health Commission operates under the Social Directorate of the Catholic Diocese of Zomba. Its mission is to advance the healing ministry of Jesus Christ by promoting human life and providing preventive, curative, and rehabilitative services in a holistic manner. This is achieved through participation in collaborative networks and partnerships, aligned with the needs and capacities of the communities, and in accordance with Catholic core values and principles, to ensure the delivery of the high- quality services, the Commission is seeking to recruit motivated and experienced individuals for the following vacant positions at one of its health facilities St. Robert Health Centre (Sitima).

Responsibilities

Supervising dump dusting in the wards including nurses station

Supervising collection and delivery of ordered drugs from the pharmacy.

Supervising delivery of blood and other samples to the laboratory and remembering to collect the same.

Supervising the disposal of all the wastes and consequently burning the required wastes to be burned in the incinerator.

Supervising the maintenance of ward cleanliness by ensuring that the wards are thoroughly mopped.

Ensuring that Hospital Attendants are escorting referred cases to referral units.

Monitoring the accuracy of vital signs taken by the Hospital Attendants.

Participating in the care of patients as needed.

Supervising the bathing, feeding and dressing of patients who have no guardians.

Supervising the moving of patients using wheel chairs or stretchers.

Attending to patients complaints and reporting conditions to nurses.

Supervising and assisting in rehabilitation activities of the patients.

Recording data in relevant HMIS registers and instruments as instructed by the concerned supervisor.

Any other duties deem reasonable.

Qualifications

MSCE

At least 4 years at Grade P
