The Head of Sales and Marketing will be responsible for leading the company’s sales and marketing strategy to drive business growth, increase customer acquisition, strengthen brand visibility, expand the agent and merchant network, and achieve revenue targets.

The successful candidate must possess strong leadership, business development, marketing, and strategic planning skills within the financial services, mobile money, telecommunications, or fintech sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to achieve business growth and revenue targets.
  • Lead, supervise, and motivate sales and marketing teams across all operational areas.
  • Drive customer acquisition, retention, and usage of mobile money products and services.
  • Expand and manage agent, merchant, and partner networks.
  • Develop and execute marketing campaigns, promotional activities, and brand awareness initiatives.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify market trends and business opportunities.
  • Monitor sales performance and prepare periodic sales and marketing reports for management.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with agents, merchants, corporate clients, and strategic partners.
  • Develop pricing, product positioning, and customer engagement strategies.
  • Coordinate digital marketing, field activations, and customer engagement activities.
  • Ensure effective handling of customer feedback and resolution of complaints.
  • Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, and operational plans.
  • Train, mentor, and manage sales and marketing teams to improve productivity and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support product launches and new business initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Sales Management, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in sales and marketing, preferably in mobile money, banking, telecommunications, fintech, or financial services.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing sales teams and marketing campaigns.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of marketing strategies, customer acquisition, and brand management.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet targets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver’s licence will be an added advantage.
