Timbercity Wood Technologies is a budding Malawian company finding its niche in the advanced technology of wood machining, wooden and carpentry products; interior designing; and sales of materials and services related to the wooden world. We are based in Blantyre with a footprint in Lilongwe and Mzuzu.

We sale wooded products like kitchen units, chest drawers, TV stands, closets, beds, bar stools, inhouse bars, boardrooms, wardrobes. We also sell melamine and all kinds of boards. Additionally, we do tiling, roofing and all work that requires state-of-the-art wooden technology and expertise.

We are therefore hiring like thinking individuals who are creative and demand driven to join our growing family and be part of an employee centred workplace. All these positions are tenable at our Blantyre head office with extensive travelling to all parts of the country to meet customers’ requirements.

Responsibilities or duties

• Visiting clients to analyze their needs and agree on products based on client requirements.
• Creating initial design sketches, colour themes and ideas based on client requirements and space availability.
• Identification of all raw materials and items required to complete the project/products.
• Ensuring project/products completion within the allocated budget and timeline
• Reporting to the Workshop Superintendent on all matters of interior design operations of the company.
• Business development.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

• An advanced diploma in interior designing or its equivalent.
• Must be computer literate and able to prepare works programs & weekly progress reports.
• Communication Skills: Effective communication for collaborating with team members and interacting with clients.
• Business development
• Team player.

Experience needed

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in interior design field.

Work Hours: 8

Experience in Months: 36

Level of Education: associate degree
