Background information about the job or company (e.g., role context, company overview)

The National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) is a statutory corporation established by an Act of Parliament (NCHE Act No. 15 of 2011) to regulate higher education in Malawi.

NCHE is currently looking for six (6) interns to support its operations under the following conditions;

Job Overview:

To provide short-term support to the NCHE, enhancing service delivery, ensuring the timely and effective implementation of user support and system integration efforts.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Under the guidance and supervision of Director of Planning, Research and Development, the interns shall perform the following duties:

  • Provide first-line support to end users through telephone calls, email correspondence, and digital communication platforms;
  • Offer first-line assistance to walk-in visitors seeking support at NCHE offices;
  • Receive, record, and maintain accurate logs of all queries and issues reported by users;
  • Identify and escalate complex or technical queries requiring further action to the appropriate officers or teams;
  • Follow up on escalated and outstanding queries to ensure timely resolution;
  • Update and maintain query tracking records in accordance with NCHE reporting standards;
  • Perform any other relevant duties as assigned by supervising officers from time to time.

Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in ICT or related fields from an accredited institution.

Duration of Internship

The internship engagement is for two (2) months.
