Key Skills and Knowledge

The successful candidate should possess:

• Proficiency in the maintenance and repair of Mercedes-Benz Powerliner engines.
• Experience working with Cummins engines (855, 12L, and 14L).
• Knowledge of HOWO trucks (371 and 420 models).
• Sound understanding of fuel and lubrication systems.
• Experience servicing and repairing Fuller, Star, and Eaton gearboxes.
• Knowledge of air brake systems for both horse and trailer units, including foot brakes and hand brakes.
• Ability to identify and rectify faults in air systems on both horse and trailer units.
• Ability to prepare daily vehicle inspection checklists and accurately follow job cards.
• Strong commitment to safety standards and workshop procedures.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical diagrams and service manuals.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should possess:

• Grade 1 or Advanced City & Guilds Certificate in Motor Vehicle Mechanics or an equivalent qualification.
• A minimum of five (5) years’ practical experience in a busy workshop environment.
