Key Skills and Knowledge
The successful candidate should possess:
- Proficiency in the maintenance and repair of Mercedes-Benz Powerliner engines.
- Experience working with Cummins engines (855, 12L, and 14L).
- Knowledge of HOWO trucks (371 and 420 models).
- Sound understanding of fuel and lubrication systems.
- Experience servicing and repairing Fuller, Star, and Eaton gearboxes.
- Knowledge of air brake systems for both horse and trailer units, including foot brakes and hand brakes.
- Ability to identify and rectify faults in air systems on both horse and trailer units.
- Ability to prepare daily vehicle inspection checklists and accurately follow job cards.
- Strong commitment to safety standards and workshop procedures.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical diagrams and service manuals.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should possess:
- Grade 1 or Advanced City & Guilds Certificate in Motor Vehicle Mechanics or an equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ practical experience in a busy workshop environment.
- Proficiency in the maintenance and repair of Mercedes-Benz Powerliner engines.
- Experience working with Cummins engines (855, 12L, and 14L).
