ABOUT THE ROLE

Illovo Sugar (Malawi) plc, the country's leading sugar producer and part of the Illovo Sugar Africa Group (ABF), is seeking a Medical Clinician to join the Estate Support Services team at Nchalo. You will provide primary and emergency medical care, support clinic management, and ensure adherence to treatment protocols and infection control standards.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Clinical Medicine or Clinical Science from a recognised institution.
  • 2–3 years of working experience in a similar environment.
  • Registered with the relevant medical professional body.
  • Basic Computer Skills.
  • Valid Driver's license.
  • Advantageous: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS).
  • Understanding of payment systems that provide coverage for patient care.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide professional Primary and Emergency Medical Care in line with internationally accepted medical protocols.
  • Support the development of internal health procedures, standards, and treatment protocols – implementing revised verification processes for successful rollout.
  • Coordinate satellite clinic management – ensure full equipment, adequate supplies, infection control standards, and proper monitoring of medicines and controlled drugs.
  • Practice cost-effective health care and resource allocation without compromising quality of care.
  • Provide Medical Emergency Response and preparedness program oversight – liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Accurately document and record information regarding patient care for medical, legal, quality, and billing purposes.
  • Adhere to Illovo's policies on SHERQ, Competition Law, and Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC).
