ABOUT THE ROLE

Islamic Health Association of Malawi (IHAM) is a local NGO dedicated to improving healthcare services in Malawi in conformity with Islamic teachings, serving all Malawians regardless of faith or economic status. IHAM operates 23 Health Facilities in urban, remote, and hard-to-reach areas across the South and Central Regions.

In conjunction with the Ministry of Health, IHAM is seeking 2 qualified and experienced Nurse Midwife Technicians to join our Nursing Services department. You will report to the Senior Nurse Midwife Technician and play a vital role in delivering quality maternal and child healthcare at our facilities.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery from a recognized institution.
• Must be registered with the Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi.
• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in a busy hospital setting.
• Well conversant with the health system in Malawi.
• Ability to work independently and lead a team effectively.
• Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
• High standard of dressing and professional presentation.
• Excellent time management, problem identification, and problem-solving skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide comprehensive nursing and midwifery care to patients.
• Conduct antenatal, delivery, and postnatal care services.
• Supervise and support junior nursing staff.
• Ensure adherence to health protocols and standards.
• Maintain accurate patient records and reports.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver holistic care.
• Promote health education and community outreach activities.
• Manage emergencies and provide timely interventions.
