ABOUT THE ROLE
Illovo Sugar (Malawi) plc, the country's leading sugar producer and part of the Illovo Sugar Africa Group (ABF), is seeking a Nursing Midwife to join the Estate Support Services team at Nchalo. You will deliver comprehensive nursing, clinical, and community health services, provide maternal and child health care, and ensure optimal patient safety and well-being.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and Midwifery from a recognised institution.
- Registration with the Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi (NMCM).
- Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience.
- Basic computer proficiency/literacy.
- Clinical skills and knowledge of best practice in nursing and midwifery care.
- Core Competencies:
- Ability to multitask, prioritise, and manage time efficiently.
- Able to work in an intense, concentrated environment.
- Able to work nights, weekends, extended hours, and public holidays.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contribute to delivering a range of nursing, clinical, and public/community health services that promote health and enhance patient care quality.
- Provide optimal nursing care to inpatients and outpatients.
- Collaborate with other medical staff to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Provide Maternal Child Health Services – including pregnancy, childbirth, and postnatal care.
- Ensure patient safety and optimal well-being through recommended best practices.
- Steward the environment patients are exposed to in wards and outpatient departments – maintaining cleanliness and safety.
- Adhere to Illovo's policies on SHERQ, Competition Law, and Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC).
