The Office Cleaner and Receptionist cum office cleaner will ensure a clean, organised, and welcoming office environment while providing professional front-desk support. This dual role is crucial for maintaining both the hygiene standards and the positive image of the organisation for staff, partners, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Receptionist Duties:
- Greet and welcome visitors, ensuring they feel attended to and informed.
- Answer, screen, and redirect incoming phone calls and emails professionally.
- Maintain the reception area in a tidy and welcoming condition.
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and manage office calendars as required.
- Assist with administrative tasks, including filing, photocopying, and basic record keeping.
- Provide information to clients and staff regarding the organisation’s services.
Office Cleaner Duties:
- Clean and sanitise office floors, desks, windows, and other surfaces regularly.
- Ensure restrooms and pantry areas are clean, stocked, and hygienic.
- Dispose of office waste appropriately and ensure recycling procedures are followed.
- Report any maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions to the Office Manager.
- Maintain cleaning supplies inventory and notify management when replenishment is needed.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of a Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or equivalent.
- Prior experience in office cleaning or reception duties is preferred.
- Basic computer skills (MS Office, email use) are a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Professional, polite, and approachable demeanour.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
- Must be a resident of Area 25 or the surrounding areas.
- Must prioritise personal hygiene and demonstrate a neat, presentable appearance at all times.
- Age: 25 to 35 years. (indicate your age in the cover letter/ CV)
Performance Indicators:
- The reception area is always clean, tidy, and welcoming.
- Calls and emails are answered promptly and professionally.
- Cleaning schedules are followed consistently.
- Office supplies are managed and replenished as needed.
- Visitors and staff report satisfaction with front-desk support and cleanliness.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
