OVERVIEW
Holy Family Mission Hospital, under the Catholic Archdiocese of Blantyre and a member of the Christian Health Association of Malawi (CHAM), is located in Phalombe District along the Chitakale–Phalombe Road.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Diploma in Clinical Orthopaedics from a recognized institution. A Degree will be an added advantage.
- Registered with the Medical Council of Malawi.
- Knowledge of orthopedic patient management and quality assurance systems.
- Good analytical and communication skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat musculoskeletal system disorders.
- Administer non-invasive treatments, including prescribing medication and recommending physical therapy.
- Perform invasive procedures, including surgeries such as joint replacements and repair of broken bones.
- Analyze patients’ medical histories, perform physical examinations, and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays and MRI scans.
- Provide advice on health maintenance and disease prevention while coordinating with other medical practitioners for patient care.
- Update and maintain patient records in a timely and accurate manner.
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in orthopedic treatments and procedures.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the musculoskeletal system and communicate effectively with patients.
Terms of Employment
Successful candidates will be offered an initial one (1) year fixed-term contract, which may be renewed based on satisfactory job performance, professional conduct, and the operational requirements of the Hospital.
