ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Planning engineer’s role to plan, schedule, monitor and control project activities to ensure that construction projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with contractual and technical requirements
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in construction planning and scheduling
- Proficiency in MS Project
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
- Strong leadership, Good communication and coordination abilities.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed project schedules and baseline programs using planning software such as MS Project.
- Develop Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and resourceloaded schedules.
- Monitor project progress and compare actual performance against approved schedules.
- Update project schedules regularly and prepare progress reports.
- Identify schedule delays and propose recovery and mitigation plans.
- Coordinate with project manager, Contracts manager, site engineers, and subcontractors to collect progress data.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts, manpower histograms, and equipment schedules.
- Proven knowledge of building techniques, materials, and construction safety standards
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Assist in the preparation and assessment of Extension of Time (EOT) claims.
- Support risk identification related to project planning and sequencing.
- Participate in project review and coordination meetings.
- Ensure compliance with contract conditions and reporting requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of planning documents and reports.
