Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the existing following vacant posts in the Parliamentary Service.

Responsibilities or duties

  • Maintains accurate accounting records for parliamentary transactions;
  • Prepares periodic financial reports, statements, and management accounts in conformity with applicable standards;
  • Assist in preparation and monitoring of Parliament's annual budgets;
  • Verify payment requests and supporting documentation;
  • Maintains and updating fixed asset ledgers;
  • Provide guidance on accounting procedures and standards; and,
  • Supports audit processes.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

A Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy or Finance or another closely related discipline with two (2) years' work experience in public finance management. Must be registered and in good standing with the Malawi Accountants Board and membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Malawi. Applicants with demonstrated expertise in public sector accounting and a professional accounting qualification, such as, ACCA, CPA, CIMA or an equivalent recognised qualification will have an added advantage.

Experience needed

Two (2) years' work experience in public finance management.
