Background

St Gabriel’s Hospital is a mission hospital committed to providing high-quality healthcare services in line with Christian values. It is located in Namitete, approximately 45 km west of Malawi’s capital city, Lilongwe.

Responsibilities

The following is not an exhaustive listing of duties associated with the post but is intended for the guidance of the person assigned to the position. The holder of the position will provide office Services, human resource and financial services to the hospital and health contres.

The general duties and responsibility of the will include the following:

  • Providing strategic direction to the hospital, defining goals and setting targets in liason with Departmenta heads.
  • Supervising the acountant and scrutinize financial reports
  • Ensuring adequate interpretation and implementation of hospital human resource policies and Procedures
  • Coordinating the development and advancement of hospital manpower and chair some hospital committees.
  • ensure regular inspection and maintenance of the hospital buildings, control equipment and Medical supplies
  • Supervising the provision of office support services and ensuring the availability of resources and facilities.
  • Representing the hospital management on all hospital administrative matters.
  • Responsible for planning, organizing, directing and controlling all resource departments and services of the center, including personal, financial, facilities, equipment and supplies
  • Taking a leading role in developing budget for both the hospital and health centers.
  • Responsible for developing and directing the implementation of policies and programs in the resource departments and services of the center.
  • Acting as chief advisor to the Hospital In-Charge in development and implementation of center’s programs, policies and procedures
  • Promoting and maintains effective public relations with governmental and community agencies and individuals

Qualifications and Experience

  • Must hold a Bachelor’s in Business administration obtained from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in the same position.
  • Knowledge and experience in a hospital set up
