Procurement Officer
REPORTING TO: Supply Chain Manager/FD
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with Operations department to forecast demand, Source procurement quotations in accordance with Government approved procedures
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks
- Assist in developing cost procurement plans for projects in response to project work schedules, processing relevant procurement documents.
- Negotiate prices, terms with suppliers, service providers and develop contracts
- Evaluate, maintain procurement files and records appropriately using technology to improve tracking and reporting of materials, tools distribution, storage or inventory.
- Provide clerical services in preparing procurement plans and program
- Implement ware housing management systems, processing and updating stocks inventory
- Ensure vehicle utilization, maintenance, fuel consumption, monitoring controls system.
- Improve processes for efficiency and cost saving.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Diploma in supply Chain and logistics, those with degree will have added advantage.
- Knowledge of procurement regulations and best practices
- Those who are a member of the Malawi Institute of Procurement and Supply (MIPS) will have added advantage.
- At least five (5) years ‘and above work experience in procurement field.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to understand and interpret public procurement related laws and regulations
- Honesty, integrity and confidentiality
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent computer literacy.
- Good communication and report writing skills.
