Background

Illovo Sugar (Malawi) plc is the country’s leading producer of raw, refined and specialty sugars; employing more than 9000 employees. Illovo Sugar (Malawi) plc is part of Illovo Sugar Africa Group; a wholly-owned subsidiary of Associated British Foods plc (ABF).

Duties and Responsibilities

Planning and supervising daily flood response project work and employee performance, assigning activities to achieve team and company objectives safely.

Monitoring standards for design, setting, and maintaining equipment, ensuring all technical instructions are strictly followed.

Assisting in developing budgets for the discipline and managing costs effectively.

Coordinating and overseeing flood response repairs within the estate, ensuring efficient operations and high standards across housing flood response services.

Implementing functional best practices and conduct regular physical inspections to ensure continuous improvement in service delivery.

Monitoring contractor performance against Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and take corrective actions as necessary.

Adhering to Illovo’s procedures, policies and guidelines, including, without limitation, those relating to SHERQ, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC).

Job Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in planned maintenance systems or estate maintenance.

Extensive experience using planned maintenance systems and the ability to work methodically in a complex environment.

Good communication skills and interpersonal relationship.
